Criminal and Social Justice and Human Services

At Monroe’s School of Criminal and Social Justice, we serve those who are inspired to serve others. Whether you want to work at the highest levels of the federal government or on the ground with local communities, Monroe can prepare you for a career that’s rewarding on every level.

We offer degrees in:

  • Criminal Justice
  • Human Services

As a Criminal Justice major, you’ll get to challenge your decision-making skills with our Law Enforcement Training Simulator (LETS). And Human Services students have plenty of opportunities for field placements, so you can put what you learn about psychology, ethics, and crisis intervention into action.

Justice is about working toward a better, fairer world for everyone. And at Monroe, we’re all about giving you the tools to do it.

My name is Leslie Vendell.

My name is Joanna Villina.

I'm Andre Cooper.

My name is Kwame Dotson.

And I'm a criminal justice major.

And I study criminal justice here at Monroe College.

I study criminal justice.

I like investigating. I like getting the bad guys. I like the adrenaline it brings. It's something that I've always liked.

I do want to become a criminal defender. And that's something that I've always wanted to become.

Ever since I was little I wanted to become a police officer. I wanted to help the community out by any way I could. Make it safe.

A lot of people around the world is starting to see cops as the enemy, something that may change where I want to make a difference. My professors, they're not regular professors. They're professors who actually had a career in the criminal justice system.

From lawyers, to police officers, and they tell us what it's like when we ask questions about it. They give us stories and feedback on what to do and what not to do. So we really get a first hand experience of what it was like for them.
